| Knowledge Community can make a
positive contribution to communities who
wish to contribute, share their skills
and experiences as well as create a
learning place for their members and
groups (e.g. Sporting, Well Being,
Educational and Environmental). |
 |
| In a globally connected world the
barriers to interaction between humans
are now virtually non existent. There is
a whole new generation of individuals
who are “digitally native”, connected
and growing in numbers. They seek deeper
social interactions to belong to a
community with a common purpose. |
 |
| Wikipedia states that a Community is
a social
group of organisms sharing an
environment, normally
with shared interests. In human
communities, intent, belief, resources,
preferences, needs, risks and a number
of other conditions may be present and
common, affecting the identity of the
participants
and their degree of cohesiveness. |

KC For Member
Organisations In order for membership
organisations to survive and grow they
need to stay relevant and accessible to
their members. In such a globally
connected world
with few barriers to access information,
organisations need to harness the power
and attributes of the internet and use
technology to support members and
deliver the benefits of membership. |
 |
| Knowledge CommunityTM is an extensive
internet based membership system that
allows organisations to connect more
effectively internally and externally
across the organisation providing an
opportunity to create a “Community of
Interest” that is both relevant and
appealing. It is designed to dynamically
connect groups and individuals
regardless of location or constraints
and to facilitate communication and
collaboration between its members. It is
also designed to be “viral” in nature,
growing the connections between
individuals and their free forming
groups on the system. |
“The challenge of
social justice is to evoke a sense of
community that we need to make our
nation a better place, just as we make
it a safer place.” - Marian Wright
Edelman

“The United
Nations, whose membership comprises
almost all the states in the world, is
founded on the principle of the equal
worth of every human being” - Kofi Annan |
Knowledge CommunityTM provides
organisations with a means to help
retain and build profitable and
supportive member relationships by
keeping them informed and involved.
Members also appreciate belonging to an
organisation which provides the means
for open communication and dialogue. For
the organisation itself, a closer
relationship with members increases
member loyalty and provides
direction for future products and
services. |
